My question is what are the 'quit' strategies used by other posters during their bad sessions?

I have been playing 6 max cash NLH for around 2 years and find it difficult to recover sessions where I lose a few buy ins early doors. I normally play around 12 hours per week (4-9 tables). Sometimes this is through tilt, other times I think I should just switch the computer off as it is not my day!!

From today my plan is to switch the computer off and return the next day if I reach -2 buy ins during a session. I reackon this will save me $ in the long run.

The other day I lost KK vs AA followed by AQ (2 pair) vs set in the first five min. I thought Ok I can recover this but an hour later I was 6 buy ins down ( had my money in good on the other 4 occassions).

What are other posters quit strategies?

Usualy when I have lost a couple of BI's and I hear some thoughts in my mind that consider gambling to get back up I insta quit. Just when you feel really pissed and think variance is bitch take a break. For me sometimes a 5min beak is enough but I'm sure you can work smth out.

Yeah- this is the first sign of going on crazy monkeyball tilt- it's never +ev to be sitting in if that's your mentality.

I usually take a break- going for a run is a big help- any bit of exercise.

This. I was down 2.5 BI with set over set, flush over straight, etc. I just quit and did some shopping I needed to do and came back later and won most of it back. Recognizing tilt is probably one of the most important things to save your bankroll.

go have a bath and regroup.

Last night i lost $250 without a really looking to win it back, i went had a bath and then got some fresh air.

Came back and won about $240 back without losing a single buy in.
Though i play HU SnG's which is different to cash but i think you get my point.

I think having a nice hot bath really helps you relax and some fresh air also helps.
Ive done it a few times and come back to break even or winner for the day.

I don't play online, I play live. Usually I will go walk around the casino, get a bottle of water and put in the head phones and listen to some music while I walk around. At the casino I go too they don't allow head phones at the table.
