HEM has a column for paid rake. I don't know what the exact formula is that it uses for this, but seems to be reasonably accurate.
The poker sites calculate the rake you pay using the MGR; every site has their own mechanism for calculating the MGR, which determines your rakeback.
HEM has some facilities to work with that too, but I've never used it.

What you accrue is not necessarily what you get paid.

The $8 difference may be paid as part of next week's payment, or maybe was already paid last week's payment, or deductions were taken out from your rakeback such as withdrawal fees, VIP store purchases, etc.

basically my question here is the rake recorded by HEM for the hands played is that the rake my rb% should be based on or on a figure lesser than that?

Quite possibly. It depends how the site you are playing calculates MGR. The common methods are "dealt" (rake MGR for a hand is distributed to everyone who was dealt into the hand equally) and "contributed" (MGR based on percentage of money you put into the pot). Dealt is better for multi-tabling nits, because they also get rakeback for hands they folded and paid nothing. Contributed is better for looser players.
Look at HEM's help to see how it's calculating the rake, and compare to the conditions of your rakeback deal, and you might see a difference already.
