"girl" can't figure out how to fix Pokerstars software even with techsupport "girl" can't figure out how to fix Pokerstars software even with techsupport

Okay I had a little fun withthe title since the "girl" with a mac issue. I figured out best way to get assistance is to cry girl.

I promise I won't give Rex hell when he spouts something sexist because I am so frigging tired of this problem and I haven't beenable to fix it.

Problem:

I keep receiving the "Dealer Messages" in the chatbox on Pokerstars. I am not stupid I have tired changing the options to silent dealer messages, but the problem is silent and normal are grayed out.

Techsupport claims it is a virus and gave me links to virus software to run and I tried running them and nothing was detected. Then they advised to completely uninstall Pokerstars and reinstall it and I did this 3 times.

I did use the add & remove programs and the uninstall method and even went back to make sure everything was deleted.

I dunno what to do now and I suck at fixing computer issues! Any suggestions or anyone else had this issue?

Are you using PokerOffice?

I only ask because I seem to remember a while back this seemed to be an issue for people who were using PokerOffice.

Have you tried logging in from a computer other than your own?

Firstly, it's Rek

Secondly, I hope I don't come across too sexist (Cardgrrl need not comment). I will make silly comments at times but I think most "girls" can see through my immaturity and know that no offence is intended.

Thirdly, I have no idea about your problem. Just thought I'd say Hi

It sounds like you're running some kind of poker assistant program that requires dealer chat to be selected. Maybe something that calculates pot odds or your odds to make a hand?

If you're sure you're not running anything like this, then it might be a trojan that gets your hole card information from the dealer chat and sends it to whoever is controlling it. If this is the "virus" that tech support was referring to, it might be more prevalent than most of us thought.

Good luck.

I tend to doubt a virus. Are you using anything like Poker Office? Did this start happening after installing new software or a patch?

i do have poker office on my computer but i haven't been using it.

lol sorry "Rek" opps on your name! I know you are not sexist. I am messing with you, fo course.

I haven't tried to access from another computer good idea!.. I will try that but hmm how will that help me fix it?

hmm well if it is Poker Office would uninstalling and reinstalling work?

and the comment about a poker assistant .. i don't have a program that calculates odds I play PLO and as far as i am aware there are no good programs for plo to calculate odds.

The trojan idea scares me! hmm but I have been running great so whoever is seeing it lol. Isnt being helped!
