um def dont push... you have over 20BB pushing here is beyond terrible if anything put in a standard raise and play from there

Yeah, you are definitely not at the push/fold stage yet. Normal raise and be cautious from that point on without hitting the flop really hard or know you can take down the pot with c-bet on the flop a large % of the time.

I was thinking about just picking up the dead money in the pot.

That's not a good spot to do that in?

you can pick up the dead money with a standard raise too and this will also allow you to fold if someone raises... shoving here is beyond bad and people are only calling when you are dominated

You can put in a small raise in this spot and what happens a lot of the time is that villain calls and check folds the flop, thus increasing the size of the pot you win (compared to just shoving preflop). This helps compensate for the times he reraises and you have to fold.

IMO you should push... the caps lock key one more time to unset it.

In the hand, make a small raise and fold to a reraise/shove.

You've played with him plenty of times and the best you can say about him is that he's not great but not too bad?

I've never even played him and just with the open limp of your hand history, I'm pretty sure he's bad.

Try to read people more. Saying a player is bad doesn't mean much.
If he only play AA he's bad, if he play every single hand he gets he's also bad. But you won't play those 2 bad players the same way.

And the standard move against a not great but not too bad player here is to raise, but not shove. You don't shove 23 big blinds after 1 limper.
