Proper Grinding? Proper Grinding?

The term grinder is still a bit confusing to me, even tho I understand the basic concept.

But how do you grind properly?

I play anywhere from 10 to 14 tables at a time in cash games and at times I am a bit of loose cannon with my money, and I bluff quite often which I believe kind of defeats the purpose of grinding.

Even though my style of play has payed off so far, I wonder if it can continue.

Grinding is about giving nothing away and only playing hands in which you stand a decent chance of winning.

I'll admit to raising preflop with 2/7 off and then reraising every bet the other guy makes until he folds or I must fold due to his aggressive reraises.

I'm just wondering if there is a wrong way to grind?

To grind is to play many hours of poker. It probably comes from the saying "having your nose to the grindstone" - which refers to working long and relentless hours.

Example: I need to play 200 000 hands this month, I'm going to grind 50 hrs/week!

Id say grinding is to play as much as you possibly can. I work more then 200 hours a month and still manage to grind about 50K hands / month at 4 tables. Thats grinding for me cause i cant play more and still be on my Agame
