From a poker training video on pot odds:

6max $.5/1 NL cash game. We open to $3 UTG with AKo, MP shoves allin $25, folds around.

Video says we're getting 1.3 to 1 on a call. What's the relevant calculation to get this figure?

Pot odds are the ratio of the amount in the pot to the amount you have to call. Assuming villain is not one of the blinds, the pot before he bet was 4.5. While he went all in with 25, your stack had to be less than that to give pot odds of 1.3 to 1. In fact your stack had to be (4.5+Stack)/Stack = 1.3. Solving for Stack, you get Stack = 4.5/0.3 = 15.

So, before villain bet, pot was 4.5 from the 1.5 of the blinds plus your opening bet of 3. Your remaining stack was 15. So, villain put you all in with a bet of 15, making the pot 19.5. Thus, your pot odds are
19.5/15 = 1.3 to 1.

Hmmm. In the video, we had $100 starting stack.

Your stack is irrelevant - villain is short stacked, which makes the Effective Stack $25 (25bb) at the start of the hand. It's a bit of a red flag that you don't get this.

Ahh,ok. I mistakenly assumed you were the short stack. If villain went all in, the pot was 29.5 and you had to call 22 (his raise amount). Therefore the pot odds were 29.5/22 = 1.3 to 1.
