Off to Vegas in March for the first time. Just wanting to get an idea of whether or not there are low stakes short handed games constantly going on, or are the low stakes ones all full ring?

Now I play so much online I much prefer 6 max NLHE, so if had the option I would play that over FR.

Also, are there all sorts of tournaments on pretty much everyday? eg well structured deepstacked FO's, 6 handed touneys?

The games are very soft - you'll make a lot of money playing ABC at the fullring tables. I'd recommend going str8 to 2-5 if you're rolled. Rake is less harsh and the play is normally quite deep.

I take it thats the next up from 1/2 and there's no 2/4. Am I right in thinking there are games of all stakes going on 24/7?

Yeah, most low limit games are spread at $1/$2 , $1/$3 , $2/$5.

Max buyins range from 100bbs to 300bbs. You can find these games 24/7 in all the big casinos, and at peak times in smaller venues.

I've only been once, but plan to spend about 6 months out there next year. The games are super soft but I'd encourage you to spend a bit of time online playing FR - probably NL5 would be best to get an idea of the sort of level you'll be up against.

I just got back from there, the games are super soft. I would think 3.5k is a little on the low side unless you don't go all out when you party. I did get very carried away a couple of nights though so you could be alright with that.

I was in Vegas in Sept and the 1/2 games were unbelievably soft. I even cashed in a couple of donkaments (i hardly ever play tourneys anymore). Even my missus had a couple of cashes and she's terribad.

Where are you staying OP?

The poker room at MGM is nice for fish, because it is right near the entrance from the Strip, so there is a lot of traffic walking by.

lol NL5 was that a joke?

I've played plenty FR live before and definately understand the differences between that and six max.

3.5k is not for spending, just poker. And like I said will hopefully be a lot bigger by then!

How are you planning on going for six months, I thought tourist visas are a max of 3 months??

Not sure where I'm staying yet as my friend is trying to sort out his timeshare at the Hilton. I see youre from Nottingham, do you play @ DTD?

NL5 wasn't a joke. I suggested it as it's quite similar to the type of players you'll be up against at $1/$2. $2/$5 is more like NL25.

3 months in vegas, 2 weeks in Sydney, 2 weeks back in UK, and then back to vegas for another 3 months. Staying at the Sahara, they're doing 90 days for about $1,800. Could probably make that in a couple of $2/$5 session with 200bbs buy-ins.
