I had AcAd9hKd the villain had 2s5s8d8h. The board came Ts9sTc2dh2c.

He won the hand after going all-in on the flop, why? he can't have a full because he has to use two cards from his hole cards right? nor trips because 9's and T's are higher than his eight right? but he won win trips, why he didn't need his 8?. I thought that he had just 8's but I misread the cards, what I'm not seeing?

Thanks a lot.

He plays the the 2 and an 8 for 222T8, you play AA for AA885, or something like that.

And beginner questions belong in...Beginners Questions, which is where I've moved this.

In Omaha, you have to play exactly 2 cards from your hand, and 3 from the board.

The 8 and the 9 have nothing to do with it. He has a 2, and there are 2 other 2s on the board. That makes 3 2s. You don't have 3 of a kind.
