Hey i really need some help guys,

i have been playing poker for about 5 years now and i have had a lot of sucess playing live poker. I have also had small amounts of sucess playing online poker but not as much as live. I like to play medium level stakes from 25 cent- 50 cent up to 1-2 dollar. I just cant seem to get a decent roll going when i start. I only like to deposit from 75-150 dollars as i do not have that mcuh cash flow to start. I just seem to be outdrawn all the time and cant get a solid roll going.

Any suggestions would be so helpful. I have just joined the site and read over some of the stuff and it has been extremely helpful already. Just would like some personal comments on my own problems.

thanks

Hi Runney and welcome.

Online play is much tougher - much better opposition. If you play 1/2 live then you will see a big difference to 1/2 online.

If you want to be successful then you need to play appropriate limits to your bankroll/budget. You are playing too higher limits for you bankroll. There are many posts on BR management if you search.

You join the site with a rakeback deal when ever possible and if it doesn't have one, or additionally, one should look for a bonus deal also, or if the site figures to offer a rb deal later, then it's better not to open an account there, yet.

If one is not winning at some limit, it means it's too tough for one's current skills (or the rake is eating one's profits); one is supposed to move up as one beats some limit, and then keep playing at the next above that limit till one starts to win and then play it long enough to build bankroll to the next.

At PokerStars one sells FP-Points and gets money.

I would say pokerstars.com is a good bet for your limit. With a bankroll of $100 American you should be playing .02/.05 blinds. This is highly suggested by other threads in accordance to the buy in for 100x the BB and have 20 buyins in your bankroll idea.

Make sure to get the bonus offer from pokerstars for your FPP's.

Learn about bankroll management and stick to it. Unfortunately, as you have just started you do not know if you are a winner or not. BR management is only relevant for winning players otherwise you need to set a budget that you are prepared to lose. I would suggest playing limits at suggested ballpark buy-ins. This will at least ensure you do not go busto too quickly. Only time will tell if you can beat limits.

I'm from UK so I don't want to advise for a canadian but if you post in the zoo (internet forum) you may get better specific advice. Note however, that the zoo can be a bit intimidating with some of the moronic replies you may get.

Alternatively, check out a good affiliate (e.g. raketherake) and take advice from there.

Good luck - post specific problems. It is no good generalising IMHO. Participate in the forums and hopefully you will improve.

Pokerstars offers a bonus money offer, so for example if your first deposit is 100 bucks you will get a free 100 after you get 1000 FPP.
