Re the odds on a FD:
-on the flop, if you are getting 3:1 or higher, it's good to call w/ a FD
-on the turn, if you are getting 5:1 or higher, it's good to call w/ a FD

However, I'm confused why exactly the odds are better on the flop: I know that there are 2 cards to come but you're not guaranteed to see the 2nd card if someone raises on the turn. Thx.

It is just the odds of hitting your draw........not the odds of you folding the turn to pressure.

THAT is what you need to think about PF. Yes, I said PF. Say you get an EP raise and wish to compete with a speculative hand. You will ALMOST HALF THE TIME encounter some type of a draw off a flop.....can you compete? You have to factor in the type of villain you are likely facing post flop. Will he often CBet and then check the turn? Will he often double barrel? Is he aggressive (good?) enough to double barrel air?

So the next time you want to compete, think the hand through to the river. Will it be too costly to play 87s here? Pre-flop baby,,,,, is where you save the money. Post-flop is where you make the money. BOTH add to your bottom line.

Why are the odds so different from flop vs turn (3:1 vs 5:1)? Is the 3:1 assuming that I will see 2 cards or just 1 card on the turn? I'm still clueless here.

yes.....seeing two cards

on flop, if you see two cards, your odds to hit the flush draw mathematically is a fraction of the available cards.

9 outs with 48 cards left in the deck on the flop PLUS 9 outs with 47 cards left in the deck on the turn.
9/48 = .1875 PLUS 9/47 = .1915 == .3790

on the turn only is 9/47 = .1915

An easier shortcut is the rule of 4 and 2. Multiply you outs on the flop by 4 to get you close to the odds to hit (9*4=36). On the turn, multiple by 2 (9*2=18) Close enough for government work.

Shouldn't it be 47 on flop (52-2 hole-3 flop?) and 46 on turn instead of 48/47? When you use the 4/2 rule, that's to figure out the percentage, right? I.e. in your example, 9 outs=36% of hitting flush on flop?

dp....very good. when I typed out my response I reread and saw exactly what you saw and was hoping it was you that spotted my error and not any of the reg sharks around here.

And yes, 36 is a percentage. Odds and percentage are the "same" for me when discussing poker "chances".

Depends what you mean. If you mean making a transfer on an online poker site:

Person to person transfers. [The first post is a "MUST READ" for the Posting Rules]

If you mean physical chips from a real casino than either here:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/102/marketplace/

or here:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/brick-mortar/

Depending on your actual question.

i tried to use the hand history converter tool, and came back with this msg. "The hand history pasted contained formatting, spaces or special characters that are non-standard or was for a site or game type that is not supported."

Do i have to edit hh's before submitting it or will it just not work with my site (betonline)

Also, anyone know of an HUD that works for betonline? searched, couldn't find.

Thanks

Do you need to know what the term means or do you need some threads examining it?

TY!! Exactly, and it can change the outcome of the hand. ACR basically says FU and it looks normal. Unfortunately I dont think I will deposit if they can't man up over a .05/.10 plo game. I didnt even ask for a freeroll out of it neither, just a confirmed glitch or not. GGWPNH

Trying to figure out why my HH folder is empty, does PT3 move them by chance? Also was going to check PT3, but using the trial version and just hoping on a table I didn't activate it. But in my original screen shot I have the hand #, can I request from ACR?

BTW, ACR Rep. took a while after his request for hand # and I had it... the bastards.... and then I told him about this Screen shot and he didn't want it.

Yes PT3 moves them. I have HEM so I can't check, but I think it is a folder called 'processed' or something similar for PT3.
