Observing tables = no HH ? and fish :) Observing tables = no HH ? and fish :)

Very very lame question here, but I would like to be sure about this

I just started using poker tracker program.

Just from observing tables (within some online poker room) there is no way of collecting hand histories and save them/use them in PT/HM ? I guess not, because if this would be possible .. everybody would be just observing tons of tables and getting billions of sweet informations, right ?

If this is correct, does it mean that only sitting on some tables with players I'm interested in (and not really playing, like folding all the time and playing only monsters) witha a main aim to be collection stats on them could be good idea ?

Also another question, when you are looking for fish ... are you using 1) your own lists of them 2) HUD stats and/or your observation during particular session 3) or there is also a way how to put there 'extended' HUD stats of particular player/fish via PT/HM from all previous sessions you met him ? and 4) are you using some inet sites for looking for fish (like sharkscope or else) ?

TY and again sorry for lame q. PS: no need telling me ... I KNOW Im the fish atm

You are right, you can't import HHs just by observing tables. This used to work, back in the day, and is called datamining.

It is severely -EV to sit in at a table just to collect stats.

There are some fish finding table scanning apps available. I simply colour code fish when I play against them, then if I see a table with a bunch of them sitting I know its a good table.
