Has anyone read this and can offer a review? I'm thinking of buying it but am wondering just how deep you and your opponents need to be to make the strategies work. I play at Full Tilt where the max buy-in is only 100bb. (There's generally not enough traffic on the deep tables at Full Tilt.)

What I'm asking is, are the strategies (and the 10bb/100 winrate) relevant in the 100bb buy-in micro tables at Full Tilt?

I'm not familiar with the book as I haven't read it, but there's plenty of beating the micro guides for free on 2p2, one persons strategy won't work for everyone, the best is obviously abc poker, no bluffing

I read it, bought it the day it came out. On Friday I even managed to re-sell it through amazon and get 9$ back of the 14$ I spent on it.

I posted about it in another thread, but that thread was cluttered.

The book's decent enough, it gives some basic info. Its mostly about online 2NL full ring cash. It advocates some fishy stuff like open limping in late position and other questionable strategies, but it does a good rundown of starting hand selection and implied odds. The hand examples are solid and I liked those.

I only found one spelling/grammatical error where the word "hat" is used instead of "that" in one instance, but its otherwise very well edited and quite well presented.

Its a light read, its not dry material at all, just straight to the good stuff. I liked that about it.

The author posts a graph of beating 2NL over 77k hands for about $270. While that's decent I'm sure, I've made more than that in the past week playing live so its hard for me to take the stakes seriously. I wouldn't personally bother with putting in that many hours of 2NL, so its just difficult to re-frame.

While the ideas presented probably work at 2NL and possibly 5NL, this stuff would get a person shredded at 10NL and above where the aggrodonks step in. Action would go limp with suited connector -> raised behind -> call -> miss and check flop -> they cbet 100% -> fold. 5BB chunks just evaporating every hand until you hit and they get away easily "cause the passive guy's betting now".

Playing like that may work in the game its geared towards, it doesn't in the games I play, which are 1/2 live, 30-65$ live MTTs, 1-5$ online MTTs, and $20 rebuy home games. I consider that stuff microstakes, so I grabbed the book.

The book is fine for what it is, its not the magic bullet for crushing micros or anything, and if you were thinking of micros as 10NL-100NL like I was, you may be a little disappointed to find out this actually about the absolute lowest of nanostakes, 2NL.

Someone brand new would love this though. A year ago I've would've read it and sworn by it. It presents a system of play whereas other books don't. When I was learning the game from scratch that's exactly what I wanted in a poker book, a system, but none of them had that. Now that I understand the game better I get why the others didn't give a system, and that's because poker is too situational and requires adjustments based on the game you're sitting in. For getting a new player started quickly and to help them hit the ground running, this would definitely do that though.

Do you really need a book to teach you how to beat 2NL? Seems kind of ridiculous to me.

Also drop $30 on Deuces Cracked or some similar training site. Money much better spent there.
