Hi!

Its my first time posting here. Please do advise!

I've recently shifted from NL2 FR 100bb tables to NL2 6max deepstack ante tables. Theres alot of difference from the two tables.

One of which is that a bet sizing of 6x on the button is really common. On the same V, he might open with 4x in EP. why is this so? Is this necessary?

Since the stacks are deep, im wondering if i up my normal bet sizing from 4x oop, 3x ip to 6x oop, 5x ip feasible?
Or even 5x irregardless of position.

Please advise!

I asked the same question but Didn't get any answer. I play 200 deep no ante though. As of now I still use the standard 3x sizing and vary it depending on the table.

Hey Frozen, its really weird. But i believe that the weird bet sizing has a meaning behind it. For every bet made has a purpose for it, to steal? Or to raise it up to rep a bluff for big pocket pairs? Do you use the HUD? i believe the HUD will provide the answers.

^^

Im not sure.

If villains are ******ed, you can vary bet sizes by hand strength, but normally I would recommend against it. One way to achieve a similar effect without giving away as much information is to raise more from EP, since your range is stronger from that position. Then raise less from the BTN. So 4x (EP), 2.5x (BTN), 3x (all other positions) is an example size.

Deepstack 2NL bet sizes are all over the place because 2NL is full of bad players and deepstack selects for the a more gambool oriented villain. I also think some of them are used to winning pots with TP hands but they know that TP isn't good 200bb+ deep. So they simply double their preflop raise size to make the effective stacks a 'normal' size.

Hey Werebeer,

Thanks for your thoughts

I think you are right. I was playing awhile ago, and V on my left did the 6x bb, i decided to call IP and to get to showdown cheap just to see his hole cards. Indeed, AJo.

Well, its just a hand, but of course, in the subsequent hands i played or watched others play, mostly these kind of hands come up more then others.

Cheers!
