I used to play some SNGs of this a while ago but just found theres a zoom for it too so Ive been giving that a go and what Im finding strange is theres a hell of a lot of shoving for 100bbs+ over a 3bb raise, Id have thought this is terrible but it seems like its the way some what I guess might be regs play exclusively, is there some sort of way that makes sense in this game? So far Ive only been able to call in a couple of spots from what I guess as a newbie and just seen a couple of A942 one suit A568 one suit AQ 2 10 type hands, seems ****ing weird to shove those to me but is just shoving a certain range whenever anyone raises somehow a viable strategy considering youre always going to have a certain amount of equity?

Also is there a reason for so many peoples betsizing to be either always tiny (minbets + 20% ish bets) or always a huge overbet or are they just bad? Im still using nlhe type sizing is this an error?

dry aces have an edge over pretty much anything pre but play awfully post

this is pretty similar to omaha just for hi which is why anyone sane plays it pot limit

Yeah thats what I assumed people were doing at first but when I saw how much they were shoving I knew it had to be way wider and I havent seen any AAxx when Ive called so far.

Is there some way it makes sense to overshove that much in this game with the rake at micros being so high in that people shouldnt really call unless they have a real top hand?

They play this way because the format of the game allows them to, and so they can avoid making difficult postflop decisions. You can still have an edge in this game, but it will come from selecting hands that have sufficient equity against the range of hands you think they're shoving. It still won't give you a tremendous edge just because equities tend to run very close together. Better O8 players usually prefer to play PLO8 where they can use their postflop skills more effectively.
