As the topic says, I got a couple of players at my micro fr tables, which has stats like 7/0 after 25 hands, can I then think of them as "nits" ? or should I wait for more hands and information to come.

Thanks.

Okey, thanks mate!
After checking up now he did actually call twice, both were against me and he lost. So yeah, guess he's a bit fishy, but I havent noted anything on him yet, cus he left after 40 hands or so..
I'm still trying to learn to read the HUD properly, and I had 14/12 after 100 hands on the same table, is that good or am I playing too tight?

Again, thanks

Edit: I did go up $4,7 at 1 table FR after those 100 hands though, and as I've heard before, profit is profit. but I would like to know if I got good stats

You need QUITE a bit more hands to make such an assumption. I personally dont 'label' players until I have seen them play a few hundred hands. Having said this, it is still a small sample.

Okey, thanks for the input it was as a I thought, just had to doublecheck, and no, I have not labeled him

Cheers!

I would label the person as a nit for sure after 25 hands. The sample is still smallish so they could turn out to be a decent player but it is very unlikely.

I did label him, but not as a total nit, I labeled him as "nit/tag unknown" or something like that, but yeah. Also wrote the stats in the label, so we'll see if I meet him again sometime.

If I see someone is 7/0 after 25 hands, I tag him as "nitty set-miner". He'll probably only raise JJ+ and AK. When he calls pre-flop, you can basically put him on a small pair every time. C-bet all flops containing a high card, and fold if he raises you. He always has a set.

If someone's stats are small in small sample, you don't call them a nit or loose, you just say "he's somewhat likely to be a nit" and after a couple more orbits "he's fairly likely to be a nit or at least be somewhat tight" and so on. Make very open judgements. Labels are not useful unless you see them as short for more complex ideas.

UNTIL you see their holecards and SEE them folding strong hands preflop that most people will open, you CAN'T know that they haven't just gotten many many weak hands in a row, so you can only make an estimation; estimations are a very big part of poker but you must always realize that that's all they are.

At that point the villain could also be "feeling" the table texture, so too early to tell. But probably not a maniac though.

That's a small sample in some ways, but in other ways you can get a good idea after 30 or 50 hands. You can certainly rule certain things out after 50 hands.

Yeah, that's one of the things I meant about being able to rule certain things out :-)

I do play 24/20 overall and pretty often run like 9/9 over 50 hands at some tables.
