I used to play mostly MTTS and to be honest was a losing player. I used to not like playing cash games for some reason
However I recently began playing 2cent no limit and was a minor winner and 4cent NL and am a a couple of dollars.
I believe in about 3000 hands I am down 25$ mostly to trying my luck at higher stakes then I should have.
My question is about sample size of hands. I see some places say 10000 and some say more. What is the recommended amount of hands before you can really notice some patterns or whether your a winning player or not

100k+ is a good starting point.

Some recommend 200k+ though

ok I seem comfortable at 4 cent NL so I imagine I will play there for awhile. Will drop back to 2 cent if i feel the need

Yes and no. I mean if your beating 2nl at 30bb/100 over 20k hands I think its pretty safe to step up when the bankroll is there.

Move up as soon as you can! Don't stay to long at the lowstakes.
