having trouble figuring out when i'm running 'hot' or 'cold' in terms of hitting stuff, are there any basic charts that have the odds of hitting three of a kind/flush or whatever?
am i right in thinking that on average you 'hit' the board about once in every three hands?
tried searching but its one of those things thats so simple i cant seem to find it anywhere
Odds of hitting a pair on the flop with two seperate cards. 18 in 46, or roughly 1 in 2.5. Odds of hitting a set on the flop when holding a pair, 6 in 46, or roughly 1 in 7.7. I could be here all day, so is there anything specific you want to know? Try googling poker odds chart or something similar. This stuff's probably been covered 10 million times.
also, is it true that the average winning hand in poker is two of a kind? does this still apply to HU games?

The average winning hand is not a simple calculation. It depends on how many players are in the game (i.e. dealt into the hand) and how loose they are and how aggressive they are. A loose/passive Limit holdem game probably has the highest average winning hand.
HU, the average winning hand is probably any pair.
