I've been thinking lately where would a good player make more money in cash games(5nl) or HU $2.20 Shootout(4max) assuming that we are not multi-tabling over let's say 500 sessions playing 2hours a session.(where from my experience I can play on average 4-5 Shootout sit&go during 2hours without multi-tabling)

I don't expect precise amount how much would someone win, all I expect is the answer where a good player both at HU sit&go and cash games would win more over long period of time.

It's a bit like asking whether I'd do better at chess or backgammon.

You don't know, because you don't know which I prefer. Personal preference is going to be a huge factor because that's going to determine how much time and effort I put into getting good.

So, which do you prefer?

Your hourly is actually going to be lower at heads up 4 mans compared to 2man hu sng's.
Also, if you're rolled for 5NL, you're rolled for $5 heads ups.

I probably didn't make myself clear. What I meant is let's say there are two players, one playing 5nl cash game(6max or FR) and the other HU Shootout $2.20 who will make more money over long run(assuming there's no skill difference between those two players).

Comparing players skills in different formats is not straightforward. What measure do you use if not winrate?

ok 5nl player winning 6BB/h would be 30c a hour 6 H.U. 3 games of $5 2 player with 5% ROI would be 75c. so H.U. would be better based on average returns for a good player.

Agreed.

(Reminds me of that episode from Steptoe And Son where Harold's listening to classical music and says, "Oh, Mahler, you're much better than Picasso." )
