newb here but my thoughts would be..;

he's a big stack so hasn't much reason to blind steal so a raise preflop suggests a range of <20% or perhaps even tighter, i'm not sure i would even call preflop, what is the game SnG or MTT?

when the flop comes you have 12 outs (odds of winning 4:1) but the bet he offers you is 2:1 odds, so this would be a bad call to make, unless he has shown attempts before to steal?
Even then, he may have 2 over cards at best and you are OOP, which give him the favourite, your implied odds are high but unless you're a big stack and in position it looks better than it is.

Don't take my word for it i am new to the theory, would love to hear what others have to say

Lol.... Being a big stack gives him more of a reason to be wide in the CO as he can risk raise/ folding.

As played nh. I'm always peeling here vs CO with 24bb. Only thing I might do different is c/r to 4k otf and then shove turn for 8k

yeahhhhhhh i getcha

I was thinking for a low # of players SnG, being a big stack, playing nitty and waiting for the small stacks to leave the table has been more profitable for me rather than risking not cashing because of loose play

but yeah for high # of players/MTTs and the importance of finishing top positions that makes sense :P
i will be watching this thread as i'm an MTT nub

Think we can make it like 3.8 and shove any turn, pre is fine

So far the best line seems to be check, raise flop and shove turn.

Is there any merit in just calling the flop c-bet?

Also i shoved flop to try and end the hand there and then was that a terrible line/spot?

Players c-bet so often you are ahead like 99% of the time on the flop. You can do whatever you want. I think the play is fine.

I don't like folding pre.

Some big stacks play cautiously here, others like to min steal a lot. Cutoff can get away with murder if you fold too often when getting such good odds pre. It's your choice whether you want to call or not.

It depends a lot on villain's tendencies but agaist an everyday bully this line is fine.
