oh for some reason i thought you were posting hu hands a while ago. w/e. gl anyhow.

poker pro is a weird job, i find it hard to consider myself a pro even though i haven't had another job for i think 3 years or something, am not at uni anymore and have made more than $20k this year. i think its mainly because i still don't really have a long term plan, and the lack of job security etc makes me think i need to be earning a pretty big amount per year before i accept that this is my long term job. at the moment it still kinda feels like i am just playing as a hobby/to make a bit of money in the mean time.. lol.

Ugh. I just totally leveled myself into stacking off with topset on a monotone board. Would of won two buy-ins if board had paired though =\

is this a dumb call?

background: hand 7, villain pushed all in 5 times before this, inc. when i open raise.

do we tighten up against these types and wait for a hand, or look to flip with a medium type holding such as this

Poker Stars $2.00+$0.20 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t10/t20 Blinds - 2 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Hero (BTN/SB): t1320 M = 44
BB: t1680 M = 56

Pre Flop: (t30) Hero is BTN/SB with 8 9
Hero raises to t60, BB raises to t1680 all in, Hero calls t1260 all in

Flop: (t2640) J 8 2 (2 players - 2 are all in)

Turn: (t2640) 9 (2 players - 2 are all in)

River: (t2640) 2 (2 players - 2 are all in)

Spoiler:
Final Pot: t2640
Hero shows 8d 9d (two pair, Nines and Eights)
BB shows Ac 3h (a pair of Deuces)
Hero wins t2640

against this range, i'm 40/60 but something like K9o or A2o is 45/55:

http://www.pokerevolution.de
Board:
SB 40.35% 39.46% 0.89% { 9d8d }
BB 59.66% 58.77% 0.89% { 22+, A2s+, K6s+, Q7s+, J8s+, T8s+, 98s, 87s, 76s, A2o+, K6o+, Q9o+, JTo }

is 40/60 ok against someone that is just going to go all in a high proportion of the time???????????

Messi confirmed as best player ever?

Yea, bumblebee you should of folded. Even if he was pushing every hand you would be 50/50 vs his range. You have the right idea, widening your calling range, but this is too wide.

i was plugging some hands in to equilab, and i'm looking at hands like 44+, KTs+, KQ+, and maybe some others at a stretch that would be ahead.

can we really just wait for these hands, against this type of maniac?

edit: throw in some Ax s+o in as well.

It depends on how often he is shoving. In order to call w/ 44 your opponent would have to be shipping 45%+. Was he shipping every other hand vs you?? Did he ever flat your raise, or was he just jamming/folding?? How did he play from the button??

You really will not have to wait too long before you pick up a decent hand. If your opponent is shoving the top 50% of hands, you can profitably call with 44+, A4+, A2s+, K9+, K8s+, QJ+, Q-10s+. On average you should receive one of these hands every 4 hands(1/4 chance). Waiting 4 hands doesn't sound so long, does it??

Now you know who to draft for your HU team

he shoved the first 4 hands, limped once from the button and folded once. that was hand 7.

he got back in by limp/re-raising from the button with AK and i called with A7. he prolly shoved another 2 or 3 times until my AKo>89o on hand 13.

from the hands played there was very little chance of any post-flop play, so it's just a case of getting comfortable knowing what hands to call with.

thx for the help. as you can see i have no idea why i let crazyfool talk me into being a HU captain
