I live in Canada and want to sign up for online poker, but don't know where to go. I want to play online mainly as a method to study and improve my game so I can beat live 1/3, 2/5, and 5/10 NL games at high rate.
I think the best way to do that is to:
- Find a poker network that has a relatively soft player pool, similar to live games.
- Find a poker network that doesn't have hand histories so HUDs, PT3, HM, etc. are not possible to use, but record all my sessions with video so I can study all my hands anyway. I presume this would repel a lot of TAG regs.
- Find a poker network that does not allow multi-tabling for the same reason.
- Study a bunch with Flopzilla.
Questions:
- I think Full Tilt, Party Poker, Poker Stars, and 888 have HHs, HUDs, multi-tabling regs, etc. So I should stay away from those?
- Which sites would you recommend?
- Which stakes online correspond to 1/3, 2/5, and 5/10 in terms of skill?
- Which sites have the best rakeback or player rewards for those stakes?
- Any sites that should worry me with respect to cheating?
- Any other thoughts on my plan?
