Hi,
have a quick question over multitabling,
I have been playing on 8 tables in tile mode, I want to go to 12 tables
but I need to cascade them.
I know that when action is on me, that table pops in front,
my questions is ... how do you know if you have timed out on one of the tables? If you are sitting out, will it stay always in the background until maybe you discover it by pure chance?

if you time out, and it sits you down, you're SOL. you have to go check each window.

A trick boku uses to great effect, is to constantly be clicking on the windows->toolbar->pokerstars-group icon, and clicking to any table that's highlighted. Once you click to a table where the clock is now running, it'll pop up the next one immediately after that. If you don't do this, you will never see any of them pop up again.

I typically pop up the windows that are in the bottom of the stack periodically just to see if that has happened, or if for some reason I'm the only one at a table (which happens periodically as well).

The best trick that I've found is that I put the toolbar on the left side of the screen so that I have a solid list of all the tables that I'm playing and can easily jump to one if the need be.

Other than that, your best tool out there is table ninja. Set up hot keys, bet amounts, and even hotkeys to move a table to a preassigned place. The way I have it set up is that on one screen (dual screen) I have my stack, and then on the other screen I will tile tables that I want to keep track of in 4 different stacks. However, at a given time, it is generally pretty rare to have more than 4 that I want to keep a good eye on.

pretty sure TableNinja has a function to 'sit in' on all tables, as well as 'sit out'
