I often hear about players mass multitabling like 24 tables. I just started trying to play multitables, I play 4 tables for now, but I wonder how others go about doing it? Getting another monitor? Whats the best way to play like 8-12 tables?

12 tables = 3 computers, 4 tables each

2 55" LCD's or Plasmas = 12 tables

HINT: even if you had enough screen space for 24 tables to fit, you cannot watch them all at once anyway

I 24tbl and stack my tables so just one at a time is showing. Occasionally I will pull one off to the side.

How high do you think most 24tablers can legitimately play as far as VPIP?

Stackkk. What I do is fill the bottom half of my screen with overlapping, stacked tables... The other half is firefox :]

Stacks seem to be the way to go. It's too hard and unnecessary to have to pay attention to which window needs action.

I play 12-14 now but would like to add more tables and either cascade or stack. Would you be willing to let me sweat a session?

I stack between 16-24. Can't imagine it any other way, but I know tiling works for some people.

I've been playing one table for the longest time...lately I'm playing 4 tables on a big new monitor...i tile the 4 tables to evenly quarters...and I'm enjoying it...not to mention the nice rakeback I'm earning...i would enjoy the ftp points...but unfortunately the ftp store is always empty or out of stock.

i 16 table on just my laptop i just tile and over lap them u can kind of see most tables so if u got a tough desiccision on a table and u can see another u have a-a u can flick raise with a-a then come back to yr desicion ,
ive found that even at 5-10c fr pstars the players do notice u r playing alot of tables so be aware.

+1 here only I am 50NL. but basically I also make sure I have it set up so I can get to any table quickly in case I have a tough decision there.

I dont table alot but as a test i opened about 14 up on my screen all fitting pretty well, no overlaps or anything.

Dnno why people would do 4 on one monitor, 4 on another unless they have like 15" screens.

Size...once you start adding more then 6 tables while tiling they get smaller and smaller making it harder to see. Much more comfortable on the eyes to 12 table on two monitors versus one, while tiling. This is the case for me at least.

I think this depends on the players style of play and poker abilities. Once you get used to playing this many tables you just play your game. I used to run an 11, but now I run a 15 or 16.

Also, keep in mind that when I play 24tbls I'm playing full ring. 6max is a lot faster and if I am playing 6max I'm only playing 14tbls or so. I run about 22 in this game.

Note: A HUD helps tremendously. I was able to be a winning nit w/o a HUD for quite some time. However, I have noticed that 25nl has gotten much harder in the past months.

50 BI Swings are not standard, but they do happen, of course. Playing loose opens you up to variance, and certainly that has an effect. Regardless, I was merely answering a question.

The biggest swing I've had in one session are 8 BIs, maybe 15 if you take several sessions together. FWIW I play 27/20, and the swings come more from coolers than playing suited gappers and such, so playing looser does not actually increase one's standard deviation too much. Mine is about 83.

I had a couple multitabling on a laptop questions, thought that this post would work without starting a new one.

1) When you tile or cascade, can you play cash games or only sng's where their is more a winning formula and you can play more robotic? I would think you would need to see all the tables to play cash games in order to see the action when it happens.

2) What resolution do you play on. I play on a pretty low resolution because I can't stand squinting to see my screen, but because of that I am only able to play 4 fr cash games at a time with some overlap between tables.

I'm trying to figure out the best configuration to play more than 4 fr cash table at a time on my 17' laptop monitor.

Thanks,

When does skill improvement begin to get affected in your opinions? How many tables?

I've been 4-tabling FR games for a while now and have gotten used to the pace. I know I can add more and go on autopilot, but I feel like I won't want to drop back down in tables as I move up in stakes. I want to maximize my learning and also maximize my winrate.

I play 4 tiled on my 22". I'd have to stop tokin and wear my glasses to play any more that, cascading would be too psychedelic rly.

I stack 18 tables and works great for me, hate tiled tables.

and use hud to have an idea of how people play without looking too much to the tables

I personally stack however many tables I'm playing. I then have hotkeys set up via table ninja to send that table to a pre-assigned location on my second monitor whenever I feel the need to keep an eye on it.
