Moving On Up...Not... Moving On Up...Not...

Hi,
I've been practicing solid bankroll management and growing my bankroll pretty solidly.

What I tend to find though is whenever it's a logical point for me to move to a higher buy-in I make bad moves, or make bad moves then tilt, or don't have the patience I had at the lower levels when things aren't going good (which I guess is tilting). Then after a week or so of this, it's time for me to move back down a level as my bankroll has shrunk.

I've been spending a lot of time learning/reading/watching videos/forums.
The money is pretty miniscule to me and looking at the play at the levels I'm looking at moving into there is nothing I should be worried about.

My bankroll is still growing but my ROI is 9% when otherwise it would be a fair bit higher.

Any advice or a thread to look at?

thanks.

seems to like youve identified what the problem is...so stop doing those things that you do differently when you move up. iim not sure what else to say really. maybe you need to work on identifying your tilt when you are actually playing so you can catch it 'red handed'.

one thing that might work is to slow down and take time to think about your decisions and ask yourself if this is what you would do in the lower stake game.

What games do you play? SnGs? Variance is high here so I don't think you should really be looking to move up according to bankroll as much as comfort.

Hi,
I play SNGs, 6P $6 buyins or $13. I know there's variance but I'd have to say this is way beyond variance. Though I've only played about 1000 of them...it's just that I play bad when I move up a level, make bad calls, tilt, am impatient, etc.

I also play don's but feel confident enough with them when I move up in levels that I don't take a noticeable hit.

thanks,
glen
