Minimum Bet: Clearing the Field (Xpost)

I'm unsure if this is the right forum to post this so if its not please correct me. I have noticed that sometimes when I limp in in LP w/ SC that if I catch a piece of the flop I can bet the very minimum bet to clear the field. This helps so that many times a would be bigger better who would have raised 3-5 times the BB will call instead and sometimes they call these minimums to river then either showdown or fold at river. If they RR b4 then I can simply fold at a relatively low cost. Anyone else have any thoughts on this aproach?
