Microstakes Boku Challenge (Small Prize here!) Microstakes Boku Challenge (Small Prize here!)

k, so I feel somewhat excited and happy for no good reason (probably caffeine), and I noticed the stuff Bona (and VDownswingV, Janellebb7) has been doing with the Shenenigans and sometimes setting up bounties and stuff I think, so here's my little contribution to motivate any new microstakes SnG players that may be around, so I'm throwing out a "bet" like Boku's infamous 100-10,000 prop bet to all the micro players out here, except of course, I fork out the money on my own.

Here's the challenge: $20-100 within 15 days. The prize is a not-so-whopping $50, split between all winners that I've okayed, including myself. Results/paying out are at my discretion of course, but this means even if I do best, someone will get a part of the prize too, and who's to say I won't go busto right?

If only one person or nobody makes it, I will split the prize 25/15/10 between the person who made it and the people with the highest bankroll at the end of the period, or the two contestants with the highest bankrolls.

If several make it, the prize pool will be split, and I will add $5 for whoever gets it done first (and sends me a screen shot first, too) I think the challenge is semi difficult, though, so I don't expect too many to get it done, thus the way I changed the payout so someone will get paid in any case.

To qualify, you must post in this thread and show me your SN, and I must personally decide that you're a genuine new player who actively participates on 2+2 (not some guy who just decides to take advantage of this offer), not someone who wants to scoop up some money randomly, in case those people exist.

Since it's much easier, all contestants must play on PokerStars (I can do small transfers from FTP/Cake if you don't have money on Stars, or you can ask someone else), and the limits are limited to $1-3.5 (microstakes tab on stars) between 6 players to 45. No headsup and no 90+. Sorry, that means no 10 cent 360s.

I will take screenshots of your Sharkscope Stats before the period starts (it's not going to happen right now. I'm actually semi busy so it won't happen for a week or more), and compare them and check if you've played other games, but this is just a fun competition, so I don't want to have to ask everyone for tournament results from stars and stuff, okay? Okay. Also I expect people to try give us an update on the progress so we can sweat each other or go OH SNAP I NEED TO HURRY when we see each other's progress. It's all part of the fun.

Other BQ regs are welcomed to join in the challenge for fun and post their results, and we can look at the RoIs we end up with. If you want, I don't mind doing some fun prop bets with other regs on RoI or volume, or whatever either. The prize itself though will be between me and who I perceive to be new players.

So if you're interested, add a reply, and I'll start taking up names and figuring out how to do this.

For the newer players who want to join in the fun but aren't as experienced in SnGs or know how to do well in them, please go ahead and post questions on how do profitably go about this challenge, what sort of games you should play, how to multi-table, what sort of BRM/Game Selection to use, etc, and we can have a little discussion here, and I (along with any other posters who are probably much better than I am) will try to help you with this.

Even if you're new, you have between now and more than a week to get used to ideas such as ICM or push/fold, tight aggressive play early, steal blinds later, etc etc etc, and hopefully regardless of who wins this, somebody will learn something from this excercise.

ps: I am also looking for some fellow regs to join me in this and add to the prize pool. I feel like a cheapskate only adding 50 to the prize pool but I am a bankroll nit by nature, but if people want to double the prizepool and join in the fun, please do.

$1 DoNs are 9 handed STTs, so, yes, you can do them.

Add me to the list, I'll pm you my SN..

Been focusing on Cash Games but decided to give SnG's a wizz properly after messing around on them before with no real strategy. Will be doing for the learning curve and challenge more than a few bucks, but hey, it's nice .

Nice idea.

wut. If you don't care don't post. Apparently most of 2+2 are barely literate.

Hehe... nice idea. I don't qualify, but I'll follow this. How come you qualify with 3000+ games? right, you put up the money )

Btw will we ever see you in the micro full ring forum?

Haha, thanks. Yes, I may have 3000+ games, but a 4% RoI is pretty weak, as is a -20% RoI at $2 SnGs.

"We"? Now you scare me, you sound like you all recognize me and is waiting to pounce on me. Should I be posting? I don't play much FR, but I suppose I've short stack now and then, so the regs at 25-50NL probably have some hands on me.

Last I heard people hated short stackers and wished they would all die in a fire (or get cancer (or aids))

Great offer in the OP.

Wish I had found something like this a few months ago when I first started.

Good luck!

It's not that hard to recognize you after all... I remember seeing you quite a bit at the table, forgot you're a short stacker Some of "us" are actually quite tolerant, so give it a try.

Not sure yet, but in a week or so.

Also, Bacon, I think you should try the 1 and 3 dollar ones instead, man.

I'll come by, then. I might as well learn to not suck at FR while I'm at it, so I can play some live.

I may be interested if I qualify. My sn on Stars is Moximal, and if you sharkscope me you'll see the vast majority of my winnings (as little as they are) have come from the $2.20 180-man tournaments. I'm very new to "real" sng play, and this challenge should be a fun way to try and put together some decent skills.

Can I play as well as Add to prize pool?
I dont think I stand a shot of winning sooo.... if I did I would give it to someone else.
I just need to work on my bankroll and its a good excuse...

This is great, thanks for the interest and help. Don't worry about sending the money yet. If anyone else is interested in helping (to be honest, another 25 would be good enough), send me a PM also. If that is the case, we can sort out the changes later.

Yes, you're welcome to join, too. The concept behind this is that I (and you if you want to join me) is putting up a challenge for others to grind harder than us, with prizes for the best grinders, and extra if you catch up with me (who is presumably better, but probably not). So Keta, if you join, we'll be sort of the "bounty" in this challenge, and we'll give them some extra if they catch up on us. Whatever the prizepool comes to, it'll be along those lines.
