How long can you run these mtt's without getting a significant cash to promote to low stakes? I am all for putting in time but i need to know there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I was hoping it would be 5 times lucky this evening but it eludes me once again

Depends on the field size. With the massive field sizes on a site like Stars, you could go hundreds and hundreds.. if not a couple thousand.. before you even sniff a final table.

Played 5,748 tournaments this year
Finished in the money 14%
Finished 10th - 4th 64 times
Finished 3rd 15 times
Finished 2nd 11 times
Tied for 1st 7 times
Finished 1st 16 times
Average field size 1514

Tournament poker is high variance. I hope you see the key to success in these are high volume as well as playing well.

Kind of missing the point.

Just to put it into context in the last 120 days he only cashed in 342 out of 2424 tournaments.

The best thing to do would be look over previous tournaments, find leaks and continue to play.

Which ever one applies to you will have loads of good information in them. Check the stickies, post hands and look at other hands. If your willing to put in the time playing then you have the time to be active on 2+2
