If you're UTG and there are a bunch of nits left to act, it's time to find another table, imo.

That's why you should only bet your garage w/AA UTG...

Anywho, in a nutshell, I want tighties to my left and fish, calling stations, lags, maniacs and loosies to my right. I focus more on getting position to the right of the above mentioned players than I do on getting tags in a position where I can steal my blinds because Im more likely to be playing most of my hands against the fish, lags and maniacs and when I playing Im often looking to isolate and exploit them.
Guess I'm not the only one who wants tags and nits to my left.....

So every time you raise AJo UTG in a FR game, you'll be OOP and against a better hand
Can someone please explain this maths to me?

LOL... You missed my subtle point, that if you're UTG, the entire table is left to act.

Although I agree, it is preferred to have tight players to your left and loose players to your right.

WRONG. We have a 90% chance of having a hand better than any single player, but there are 8 other people who have two cards in front of them, and you need to beat ALL of them in order for it to be +ev. So the odds of us beating every other hand at the table is .9^8 (8 being the number of players of course)

Just raise AQo +, you can't lose a lot of $ from mucking AJs, ATs and KQs UTG, but you can lose a lot of $ from playing 'em, AQo + is a monster because TV has turned AK and QQ into a 3bet for 99% of the donks out there.

Well, it isn't quite this cut-and-dried. When you hold AJ, then some of the hands that beat you (e.g. JJ, superior Aces) are less likely because you're holding an A and a J. But OTOH, the big blind also is priced in to call with much worse and OOP, so that changes things, too.

There is an excellent article in this month's 2+2 magazine about the fallacy of considering mererly hot and cold equity when assessing starting hand value.

I'm not saying 3betting AK and QQ is bad, I'm saying people don't balance their ranges or vary their play, so when you raise AQo the hand plays itself.
