Anybody here making a living off of live poker?

If so, how?

Like what game are you playing, how many hours etc.
I would love to hear it, thanks!

This isn't the best sub-forum to ask this question u might find better answers in LLSNL forums from a couple of specific/decent posters that is...

Anyways to answer ur question briefly it's a lot of work (more work then what people think it to be) if u want to be a winning profitable player... there are tons of guys out there making a living off live poker. IMO you should put in good volume in both live and online i'd say equal amounts in both to really become successful.

Here's a thread about Squid Face and the article on him in the 2+2 magazine. He posts regularly in the Beginners Questions forum.

The Poker Goals and Challenges forum is designed specifically for players to talk about the lives. There's lots of threads there to read and the participants welcome questions.

Yep .. not the best place here ... There are a bunch of older threads to search for and get some varying opinions. I win and only play live .. could I make a living? Maybe, but I'm not sure that my main playing area could provide enough action if I were to play the extra hours I would need.

Some basics ...

1) 9-18 months living expenses in separate non-poker bank account
2) 20-30 BI bankroll minimum
3) Multiple places to play within a reasonable distance
4) Large player pool, you don't want the players to adjust to your style when you are playing more hours.

Most of the 1-2 in my area plays like 2-5, so the opportunity to make $2-400 per day is there when the 2-5 games aren't going. Most of the 5-10 games are pretty tight though so playing bigger may not be the best.

You need to evaluate the area you want to live/play in to determine if there will be enough opportunity for you. Can you make a living? Yes, for sure .. but I think it could take much more work in some areas than others. GL
