I am watching the BB Defense Live Seminar by Qing Yang. There is this part where he mentions that BB vs EP in SRP, when the board comes AQ6rb, facing a small c-bet from IP, KJ is not an ideal hand to do a lot of check-raise with because "it tends to block a lot more folds and even the calls that it does block are much lower EV."

My question: The calls that KJ does block, like KQ, for example, are much lower EV compared to what???? BB's x-calling range on the flop??? or BB's x-raising range???

I think it means lower ev compared to other parts of EPs calling range.

Would you mind explaining why this is all the more reason to not do a lot of check-raising with KJ?

Before mentioning this point, you go into detail about why 6x combos make up a lot of BB's check-raising range, saying "they have superior blockers compared to KJ, cause these hands don't block any folds and block some of the highest EV call in the LJ's range <our A6s>".

I can understand right away how the bolded part would further backup the idea why 6x combos are better to check-raise with, but find it hard to understand intuitively why KQ's having much lower EV compared to the rest of IP's calling range is an additional reason we should not check-raise a lot with KJ @@ Even though these two have the same principles behind them?

Because poker is a zero sum game. So when you reduce the possibility of your opponent having high EV combos, you increase your share of the pot as a result.

Whereas if you block lower EV combos, your potshare also increases, but not by as much.
