Things about the staking deal

- I will have $4,000 to enter any live NLHE events I choose

- We split all ending profit 50/50, at no risk to me

- I'm living in Southern California, willing to travel as far as Vegas

- My staker is not financially well-off or rich, and is taking a respectable risk in this arrangement

- The goal is NOT to "get rich quick" or to attempt winning a huge event, the goal is to make any profit regardless of how small

Things about me

- I am a live cash game regular that has progressed through $1/2 NL up to $2/3 NL, recently playing $5/10 NL staked but doubting my game due to some recent losses. My game would be summarized as very aggressive, and villain regs view me as marginally reckless.

- My current poker knowledge, views, and perspectives are all ones of a live cash game player. This will be my first big buy-in live tourney. I don't have a lot of experience with tourneys except online, with small SNGs, DoNs, and Freerolls.

- The only way I can think to practice is at "Deepstack" tourneys in my local casino. They are 5000 starting stacks with 25/50 blinds doubling every 30 minutes (until late-tourney where the blinds would slow down and maybe 1.5x every 30 mins instead of 2x every 30 mins).

Questions for you

1.) What tournament series & events should I be looking at? Keep in mind I want to enter multiple events. Remember, I am fine with a small profit and am NOT aiming to get rich by final-tabling a huge event with a top-heavy prize structure.

2.) What should I be reading or watching to properly adjust myself to an effective mindset/playstyle for deepstack MTTs?

3.) Any other Live MTT knowledge or preparation advice from veterans/regulars would be invaluable to a newbie such as me.

Read these forums, there is a forum specifically for MTTs. The bellagio and all the bigger casino's in vegas always have tournaments, try the bicycle casino in california and the other ones there probably have tournaments all the time.

I know theres an MTT forum but I thought this would come off as a beginner question. I also know that the big casinos in Cali and Vegas have tourneys, but I'm not looking for the average "Friday Night Tourney" or whatever. I'm thinking actual circuits or stuff like LAPC and which events in particular are best suited for my needs.

Oooh okay, right now the wsop circuit events are going on all over the place. I would check into those tourneys although the buy ins for the main event is usually 1k +
