They are the source of my runbad and have therefore been discontinued.

I apologize for the inconvenience.
10-28-2008 , 09:35 PM
sucks that you runbad with girls and good with big sweaty men
10-28-2008 , 09:36 PM
Haha

We'll see how they do, if they do badly I'll just have a still-picture or none. Because I'm convinced :P

Just got back from Vegas.

Great times, lots of drinking, clubbing, relaxing and of course, deep-stacked $2/5NL action.

Cruzer I hate you now..... Bring back your old avatar!

Raze: Poker pay for the trip?

I've come to the conclusion that there is a law that states I must get screwed anytime I am close to something good in poker. Step 3.. 3 left, top 2 get a step 4 ticket so I can play in the sunday million... Q3s mows my A10 on a 10 3 5 flop.... 3 on the river was honestly expected.

Ouch, thats pretty ill.

How much did you invest in these steps to get that far?
10-29-2008 , 11:47 AM
Yea it paid. I played very well but ran even hotter
10-29-2008 , 12:11 PM
Nice, I'm yet to play live.

Is it true that it is softer live than online?

Meh, that's poker. There were a few spots earlier that I should have been shoving so that I didnt put myself into that spot. The one guy not involved in the hand was a monster stack, myself and Q3 donk were about 7-8bb's deep so I should have been a bit more aggressive after 6th place went out. 5th,4th and 3rd all get the same prize so it's really good to be more aggressive there and I wasnt... but still q3? oh well... i'd rather he call than fold

I'm not sure... usually if I want to play a step 1 I'll play a $5.50 d.o.n.. and if I cash, which isnt terribly hard, I'll use that for a step 1, which softens the blow... I think I have $15 invested this week.. so not terrible.... on the plus side, i get fpp's for these things... small bonus i guess.

omg yes! As long as you adjust to the game play. At your typical $1/$2 game, you have to make preflop raises bigger or you'll get 4 callers with junk suited cards, ace rags etc. If you can adjust though, you can easily be +ev in live games..

Shame there aren't any casinos near where I live in the UK.

There were plans to build a vegas style casino but they fell through
10-29-2008 , 02:44 PM
Wasn't that proposed to be being built in Manchester? Suppose it's not that far from Everton. I was mega pissed when that fell through. I went to a casino in Manchester on a friday night and it was dead.
10-29-2008 , 03:08 PM
Yeah that Manchester one.

I'm not actually from Everton I just support them (playing Bolton tonight), I actually live on Skegness on completely the other side of thecountry, but there was also a casino proposed to be built near me as well, which fell through at the same time.

I had definitely some of the toughest tables and opponents I've ever played live. There are big differences between live and online that you'd need to adapt to.

Generally, at $2/5 $1K max live vs. $3/6 online, there are a lot more sharks at any table online, but the fish are worse online too. People fight harder for smaller pots live, which is fun. Some of the toughest players I encountered live would blind steal and isolation-raise a limper at almost every opportunity, and they would Cbet every flop and turn, which is very tough to combat without a hand and without position.

From my experience, I think it's easier to make the money finding fish online and beating them down, but the average live player is a lot worse than online, if that makes sense.

I'm guessing online is more profitable due to the fact that multiple tables mean you can get a higher hourly rate?
10-29-2008 , 10:59 PM
**** step 3's

Yea that, plus the hands are faster, the rake is much lower, I'm not getting wasted on free drinks, etc. I think I could make more money single-tabling online vs. live though, given equal stakes, due to game and table selection. Definitely a major edge for online players.

Wow, come as quite a suprise, I always thought that live was much easier to make money at, going by what people were saying, but single tabling meant you made less.

**** live casinos then, I'll just become an online pro!
10-30-2008 , 04:27 PM
Nah, players are at a much higher level online, but the biggest money is definitely online, given other factors. Im definitely addicted to casino poker now though. I'll be back next year to shoot at the 5/10NL games since I pussed out and stuck with 2/5.
10-30-2008 , 04:29 PM
How high are the highest games in Vegas?
10-31-2008 , 01:59 PM
Happy Halloween guys!
