I have gone to a local casino to play 1-2 NL the past 2 days for the first time in a long time after playing online for a while, and i won a little under a thousand. the play horrid, but some things are so irritating to me. I remember going all in a draw a couple times and got called and sucked out, I had at least 8 outs in each draw, and people would get so pissed and start cussing me out because I went "all in with nothing". This is so annoying. I keep my head down dont and dont say a word. ANd another thing is, and i started a thread about this a couple days ago. peoples ego. its poker, leave ur ego at the door. funny thing is they all have egos and they all suck. Lets hear any other rants about live play.

I just love the know-it-alls who like to "teach' the table and show just how much they know. I was playing a $2-$5 NL game where I had raised pf with AJo, got one call from the blinds, and flop came JJ2. Check, check, on flop. Turn is a blank, he bets half pot, I raise about 3x his bet, he calls. River completes a possible flush, he bets around half pot, and I flat-call. He shows 22.

Then this college-age dork who wasn't in the hand chirps up. "You coulda gotten a whole lot more out of him," he says to the winner. To which I say, "Not with that river. I'm not putting much more money than that in the pot with a flush now beating me."

"I mean, on the flop. If he woulda bet, don't tell me you woulda gotten away cheap. Be thankful you didn't lose more than you did." Said in a very snippy manner, I might add.

Well, thank you, Captain Obvious.

I remember in a home game a guy got really pissed when I showed my two spades I raised with on a club flop, he got really really pissed that I knew he'd fold to any bet on that board

Definitely the idiots that berate you for making a 'terrible' play. The same idiots who will get a 200BB stack in preflop with ATsooooooted.

Me and a friend were at the same table and I bet turn with a gutshot and my friend called. I river the nuts and bet river for like 1.2X pot or something my friend calls. I laugh and say nuts -> old guy beside me like snaps and starts doing the whole mockingly "you think thats funny huh, yea you think thats funny huh? You dont do that to friends, he'll remember this" type thing.

there seems to always be some envious douche that whines and insults u when you are just raking in the pots and on your A game

and the old men that gripe when you don't chop the blinds and you sit on ACES!!!

Keep in mind that some players just don't like losing a hand. It doesn't matter if it's you, your mother, Phil Ivey or the door man. They just need to vent. It doesn't matter if you had odds, implied odds or whatever. You just happen to be the target of the moment.

Not getting a drink holder, smelly people, people screaming at the top of there lungs when they get a good hand, not finding a porter, and last but not least (JK-DEALER MISTAKES). Only when I have a good hand tho.

smelly people are the worst. When dealers make a mistake that screws up your line. Dirty chips.

On a positive note, live 1/2NL and 2/5NL are really easy to beat. So it's like playing the micros at bigger stakes. Imagine if 100NL played like 5NL. That's most 1/2NL in casinos.

I hate the smokers blowing smoke into me. Okay, fine I'm not a big fan of tobacco, but I understand some people like to smoke, can you try to not blow it right into my eyes? Jeeez.

I hate people who hollywood for half an hour when it's obvious I'm bet folding or when I'm obviously pot committed. I WOULD'VE CALLED EITHER WAY EITHER, JUST SHOVE ALREADY.

I dunno if people do this at you all's live games but the people at mine like to see what everyone folded if theyre not in the hand. annoys the hell out of me.

the dealer ( frequently) likes to peek the turn and river before they come out....again another nuisance.

people who chew tobacco at the table...I go to college in so. IL so tobacco-chewing is not uncommon. I cant stand sitting next to an empty water bottle full of spit....god forbid.

people to the immediate left or right of me asking for "pocketcam" if I'm in a hand or trying to make a big decision..

hmm...after reading this over maybe I just play at a really crappy home game...no wonder I play online.

You should chop blinds every time. That doesn't change just because you got dealt a good hand.

QFT. You either chop, or you don't chop. Either way, you don't change your decision back and forth throughout the game based on whether or not you like your cards. That's a rookie mistake (and a douchey thing to do).

Most irritating things to me:

1) A player who's breath smells like he's just eaten a rotten corpse
2) The guy who can't ever remember that it's his blind or turn to act
3) Dealer abuse, esp over things beyond dealer control (i.e., the cards)
4) NYC guidos at the Taj
5) "Phill Hellmuth Kid" (you know, WSOP shirt, sunglasses, hat, Hollywoods @ 1/2 taking 2 minutes to fold)

I'm a frequent live player and this is what bugs me to the umpteenth degree!!

It would be a shorter thread if you listed the things that aren't annoying about live play.

- Comped drinks (in the US at least)

I also enjoy that I get no respect live because I'm young and talk a lot at the table.

I personally don't mind live play at all - the money is good enough to make up for any issues I have with the games.
