HUDs? HUDs?

Hey guys,

Used to play a lot 5+ years ago. Played over a million lifetime hands. Used to use Holdem Manager and probably still have my license somewhere. I've read that stars is banning people for using HUD's now, is that true? If so, are people really playing without stats nowdays?

I'm using my hem2 HUD and haven't been banned so far. Usually when you're using illegal software, the Pokerstars client will pop up a first and only warning message. Happened to me back when Pokerstove was suddenly made illegal on stars.

Hi Curlyface. I use Holdem Manager 3 on Stars. Their website has a list of prohibited and permitted software and both HEM 2 and 3 are permitted.

HUDs are still legal on Stars, but that network has some restrictions on specific stats and colour-codes. The developers of PT and HEM "fixed" their software so it automatically obeys the rules that Stars dictates. In short, the most popular trackers/HUDs are still legal on Stars. (Other sites have taken other measures to reduce or remove HUDs, such as anonymizing player names, or removing hand histories).

I'm in the same boat, CurlyFace.

Curious about this, too. I have not played in forever, getting back into the game.

Used to use PokerTracker. But after moving to Tennessee had to find BetOnline and discovering there's no easy way to run one on this platform. Particularly on OS -- at least without partitioning a hard drive.

Following this closely. Would love to find a workaround that makes sense.

IMO HUD's are not a "must have" you see plenty of online pros play with and without them and many are just as successful as the other. Is there good information that can be collected with HUD's, yes without a doubt but it shouldn't stop a player from playing.
