I've been playing without one for a long time, I feel like I'm ok without it but since everyone at higher stakes uses them apparently and if it can make me better, I'm considering investing in one.

Which ones are good, what are the differences between them, and which could benefit a beginner the most?

Also, would getting used to an HUD hurt my live game?

They both have free trials, try them both and buy the one you like best

Presumably holdem manager and poker tracker. I use hem and am happy with it

Yeah, I was referring to hold em manager 2 and poker tracker 4. I personally have hem2 and like it

Not much live experience but from what ppl say u will encounter way more aggression in online games, also the skill level at 1/2 in ur local casino should be nowhere close to an online 1/2 game full of pros.

Online, due to larger volume and use of huds, ur leaks will be attacked way more often.

Last thought is that online is way more impersonal, u don't see the smile on anyone's face when stacking ur chips
