Planning to go to Berlin in a few days and would like to hit the cash tables but not sure about rake. Back home I only play in rake-free friendly bar games, so I have no clue what a decent rake structure looks like. Can someone tell me how terribad the rake is at Speilbank Berlin casinos?
Not good but also far from the worst I have seen. If the players are obviously bad the games will be beatable, if they're semi-competent they might not be.
Most USA rakes are capped at $6 plus $1 BBJ (promotional fund if they have one) but the max rake is taken at the $60 pot level. So 10% up to max of $6. Some places will charge an extra $1 for running it twice on all-ins.
I usually set up my opening bets to minimize the rake with 2 callers at 1-2 so it totals just below where the next chips is taken. Obv if we get past the Flop it is usually max rake, but I try to take pots on the Flop if I can.
