Hi everyone

6 max cash game player, NL2 and NL5 exclusively at the moment until the bankroll grows (20k hands for the moment according to PT4)

I would like to improve my knowledge, theory etc.. But i don't know where to start and where to find the ressources

For the preflop play i use GTOWizard a lot but i don't know what else i should study (for free, or maybe cheap options if possible cause i don't think i'm good enough to extract enough value from a month sub to GTOWiz)

Obviously postflop should also be looked at but idk where

Any insights ? thanks a lot

I recommend the book "Play Optimal Poker: Practical Game Theory for Every Poker Player"

I think every player learns in different ways. Personally, I think unless you are very intelligent/intuitive or have a coach walking you through everything it can take a long time and a lot of hands to beat micros just because there's so much to understand about the game that you cant quickly study. These videos are very good especially if you play on GG https://www.youtube.com/@NeviRPoker.

Thank you for the suggestions ! Are books still relevant today with how poker is evolving ?

I'm in France so i'm very limited in terms of poker rooms and GG is sadly not available in my country

A lot of videos i've seen in youtube focus on Zoom games, are they worth studying compared to "regular" cash game tables ?

That book is about understanding game theory, and how it applies to Poker, it uses simplified "toy games" to help you understand things better. So I don't think it will go out of date unlike other/ older poker strategy books. the GTO Wizard blogs are also worth reading and many cover real game situations/ exploits that work in lower limits.

What you learn for zoom works with regular and vice versa its just what you prefer. generally regular tables are softer and you can exploit your opponents easier because you get more hands on them. the advantage of zoom games is you get many more hands so you can learn common patterns/spots faster. When new I really recommend playing at most 1 zoom table or 2/3 regular tables at most and really thinking about every hand.
