I'm sorry to have to ask this question but I don't play many tourneys. When people talk about having to shove with only 10bb remaining are they

A) talking about your stack / by just the BB and that gives you your BB remaining
B) your stack / by the BB and SB. (do you then also count the antes when they kick in so it would then be your stack / by the pot size at the start of the hand

I'm thinking B but need to clarify about the antes

There is also the "advanced M" where you can calculate your exact M based on how many people are still on the table since while shorthanded orbits pass faster.

Hey,what about adjusted bb stat in hm2? It includes ante in calculation right?

Ok so when I'm working out if I'm down to shove fold territory I go with answer A and usually anything around 10bb is shoving time

a) Start looking for shoving opportunities when you have fewer than 20 big blinds remaining, but also keep an eye on other players' stack sizes and be aware of your position at the table. (An early position shove has more chance of being callled, so your range should generally be tighter).
b) M is the ratio of your stack to the cost of one orbit. The cost of an orbit is SB + BB + total antes.

HEM has stats for bb's remaining and M. I have the both on my HUD for when I'm playing tourneys, and have colour-coded them according to Dan Harrington's zone system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-ratio
