How do you get better? How do you get better?

I play a lot of poker - really a lot. But I would like to look at poker as a thing that I can study. But I am afraid I'm not sure how to. What do you do?

Well, all I can think of:

1. Get pt3 or HEM, review your sessions and find your leaks: line, losing big pots, etc
2. Post hands on 2p2
3. read poker books
4. sign up with training site, watch their videos
5. play some more.

Read some Books...Harrington on Hold'em really opened my mind. He looks at every Hand from so much angles... He made my think about things I never minded before. It helped me a lot.

The other way is to do it your self. Look at Hands played by professionals. Take your time and analyze every bet and raise and check and whatever...Try to imagine their thoughts.

That's what you have to do when you're at a table..... but you need to practice it..

greets,
Galdo

1. Would you elaborate on that?
I have PT3

2.
And with that post hands - I've never quite understood. Or to respond to hands that have been posted. Can you give an example of a hand that might be good to post?

3. Do you take notes on what you read?

I find that hard to do. Because the games that I watch with the pro's, the dynamics are so much more different than the NL10-NL20??!

Post your biggest losing hands/hands that you think you played badly, and be prepared for massive amount of feedback from the online pros. Opinion of others is the best thing for improving your game IMHO, but don't become a standard robot, always remain open-minded.
