How did I start spewing so much? How did I start spewing so much?

To all the newbies!

Fold more.

I used to be a 1.5BB/100 winner at 50NL...I know I know...sample size...."yeah right" etc....That was my last 50K hands...before that I was a slight loser....

I was working on my game like I'd never done before...getting a good grasp of playing vs a range (instead of a "hand")....etc

I was floating and taking away pots...I was able to level out my red line and improve my non-showdown winnings...I would fold over pairs to the right opponents and make other decent lay downs that were correct because I was behind their range!

I've probably played 1.5 million hands of poker online...most of them at 25-50nl....I was breakeven with RB.

That's pretty bad. I've put in a fair bit of volume compared to some rec players and I'm STILL break even...it's like I'm clicking buttons and making the same mistakes over and over...

Now I can't even win at 5nl...

When I was playing my best and beating 25 or 50nl I used to respect raises from passive players...

Literally all you have to do at the micro's is fold when someone raises into you unless you 1-3rd nuts and/or a lot of equity...

I was 4betting light at 50nl with success and really getting the hang of preflop raising dynamics with regs...

Obviously at 5nl there's no need to do that.

It's like I'm trying to run over 5nl and 10nl...but I'm finding it actually takes just as much patience/grind maybe even more?

It's SO nitty compared to a few years ago?

I don't know what I'm after in this post...Perhaps someone has been there before and recently had something "Click"...?

I'm not trying to complain about luck or variance or any of that ****...I feel like I understand what the long term really means!

My C game is creeping into my game regularly! Causing me to spew and call when I should be folding.

It's brutal.

Maybe I'll self fix.

I'm starting at 2nl for the first time in my life.

I dunna...and comments, support, hate is welcomed.

wait so you moved down from NL50 to NL5???

that's weird that you say the micros are nitty because i played NL10 last year and the table was usually half-filled with donks and total calling stations. all i did was go to valuetown with made hands, easiest game ever.

i moved up to NL25 and yea it's definitely nittier but nittiness is super exploitable when you have position and you know the villains tendencies.

This is definitely true, but the micros are still super soft. More of the fish are at least somewhat aware of how to play than before, but there are still plenty of people just randomly clicking buttons.

You already know how to beat your opponents, you just don't seem to be able to follow through. Fold to aggression and valuebet a ton and you'll be out of 2/5/10NL fairly quickly.

How many tables are you playing? You might solve some of your problems by adding a couple more to keep you from getting bored and trying to make hero calls.

^^this is good advice, i'd fire up multiple tables and just go to valuetown as much as possible at this level.

being bored at the micros is really bad because then you start making fancy plays against a loose donk or a nit who happened to hit the nuts. and that's not a good place to be!

I'm the opposite...I used to 12-20 table 25nl...I finally settled in at 6-9 tables...and often think about getting down to 4 tables (when I get back to 50nl again) to improve and actually pick up detailed tendancies....

I agree on the thinking that playing more tables can help you from getting complacent and/or help you avoid FPS...but literally I think I need too 16 table for that to happen....OR how about actually improve to where I can crush 5nl for 4BB instead of squeak through it at 1-2BB...(the same goes for 10nl-50nl)....I 3-4BB at 9 tables would be nice!

I used to be scared ****less of 50nl....I was a reg at 25nl and would take shots at 50nl just leveling myself...I improved my preflop game just a tad and I started holding my own a bit more...my perception changed a few months ago and I literally felt so good playing 50nl and actually winning slightly before RB!

Anyways...ya...9 tables...2nl...fold to aggression as a default and still steal lots!

I agree with you. I know the micros are full of exploitable opponents...

I think my biggest leak is just not backing down....I'll double/tripple barrel with success with good equity and sometimes I do it with out...

Example: 3bet pot....AK....Bet Bet Bet and the board never showed a a card higher then a 10...

I'll be playing solid...stealing blinds....3betting frequent stealers...rarely ever calling a 3bet OOP....and mainly 3betting for value....and then I'll lose a stack because I wanted to keep the pressure on...when SURELY they aren't folding their 89 on a 824 board....

I'm what's stopping me!

Thanks for the comments...
