I normally play a decent game of full ring at NL10, and usually end up $20-$30

So when a night goes like this, what do you do ?
After a few hours of hard work to break even, they all seem to have just the one hand that beats you. You never hit a draw, they always do.
So how do you handle mentally ? I feel like just giving up and not bother with this bull anymore.

True, I had days when everything went my way and I ended on the peak, at $40 profit. But some days it seems your opponents are just better players. I mean you can play 100.000 hands at NL10 and feel you work really hard to break even, how do you find the spirit to keep going ?
Can you tell yourself that playing an insane amount of hands will make you better, or are you just wasting your time breaking even until some better player steals all your money ?

If you don't enjoy playing poker then you are wasting your time playing at all.

Playing a lot of hands will not necessarily make you any better (fgators), but along with some sort of studying/focussed play it is likely to help a good amount.

If I'm not tilted I play until I'm even and use it as motivation to squeeze out more hands that day. Or if I'm like super tilted and can't think straight I just stop and go do something else (not involving poker in anyway).

I also do the reverse and stop if I reach my $ goal for the day and use the rest of my time to study poker. When you have a winning day its easier to focus on reading and learning.

Well, ive been at nl10 for like 2 months and it was really frustrating because you want to move up and start making real money. Right now I am taking shots at nl50 and its the same thing, im frustrated because im really close yet cant seem to reach my br requirement. I tell myself when I am ready(skill wise and mentally) I will acquire the necessary br to move up for good.

Take a break for the night, it never feels the same the next day.

Once you start again. Don't think that you are down xx$ amount of money but instead think that you are starting from the current amount you have an accept any winnings that come as happily as if you were never in a downswing.

Why would you take shots at 50NL while playing 10NL? Unless you're crazy overrolled, it makes no sense unless you really like rebuilding.

You just have to stop for the night and let it go, your next rush of cards you won't even remember that it ever happened. If you're a winning player this will only be a bump in the road, be patient, even the greatest have bad luck from time to time... Except me ofcourse, i'm never taking a bad beat again

I'm sure at least 1BI of that is tilt/spew. When you feel yourself start to steam, go take a break or quit for the day.
