Step 1.) Poke around the forums

Step 2.) Post a hand history in the appropriate forum, which is probably here for you for now. Or try to participate and ask questions in threads that are already started. In fact, that's probably best to get started.

Step 3.) BE OPEN TO CRITICISM and try to really listen to what people are telling you. Letting go of ego is crucial for speeding up the learning process.

Google "poker training sites", you have a lot of hours of video training to watch my friend!

as others have said, you dont need a pro to talk to and even if you did you'd need to pay them for their time which would cost alot relative to your bankroll. you should start with cheaper - and dare i say it - more effective learning methods. That is, getting involved in the strat forums of 2+2 and maybe find a coaching video site to subscribe to as that is way cheaper than one on one coaching and you'll get more material for way less money.

based on the OP that you started this thread with you might even need to start from scratch (I dont know you so i dont know) and build up from there.....no offence, but so many people think they are good players but they arent and if you think that getting a pro to answer a few emails will be the antidote then that probably means you have a lot to learn. I dont say this to be mean I say it to help you out based on what I read.

anyway you found the forums so you have a great place to get better at poker.

goodluck

Of all the advice you hear I think this will be the most critical. Maybe you are the next poker prodigy but the chances of this are slim and the reality that you are a good poker player may not actually be true. Ive been playing for about 8 years and when I look back I see times that I thought I was a good player but the reality was that I had so much more to learn. You have some of the best poker players here giving very good advice. The majority are probably better and more experienced than you. Please listen to them and take criticism when asking a question. Mr Crispen is spot on with this advice.

Chasing 'the big one' will potentially be a very frustrating path. If you are only playing big buy in tournies or small tournies with thousands of players then you may take years to see something materialise.

Good luck

a good reading list and training videos will help..also make sure you are actually taking in and applying what you see/read. most pople read or watch and presume they know it.you need to apply and pratcice.

I believe the Skype and TeamViewer comments in this thread are part of a joke about the Girah scandal in which a player tricked some high stakes players into letting him see their screens while he played heads up against them.

With that said, I don't think the Beginner Forum is the proper forum for the average 2+2 meme jokes. People are here to learn and they don't really have the wherewithal to be able to discern what is serious and what is facetious. Even worse is jokingly giving bad advice even if to you or me it is obviously the incorrect play, as it will commonly not be obvious to a brand new player. They're here specifically because they don't know.

Even if I had that info, I wouldn't pass it on to a total unknown. Don't hassle pros unless you are serious about paying them big dollars for their time.
Besides, you can ask lots of questions to the good citizens of this forum (many of them long-term winners) and get advice for free.
Before wading in with questions that have been asked a zillion times, however, please read everything in the FAQ. That's what it's there for.

That thread (and the links contained within) it is a goldmine.

There are a few pros who will gladly offer amateurs some tips and advice on playing hands. Phil Hellmuth often gives long lectures to young players about how they should have played their hand. Mike Matusow and Tony G are also known to be very "outgoing" and offer tips and strategies. Hang out at the Aria and Caesar's Palace casinos and you might get the chance to talk to them or even play some cash games with them.

But take the advice of all the posts here, it's easier.
