I've been looking for the std dev/100 stat on HM2. I found a stat "std dev bb" and the value is 7.90. Anyone know what this means? std dev/ hand maybe?

Standard deviation in HEM is measured in big blinds or big blinds per 100. A typical figure is 80bb/100. 7.9 is almost certainly your SD per hand, as that would multiply up to 79bb/100. You should be able to find SD in bb/100 listed in the stats somewhere. It's certainly included in HEM1, but might be hidden somewhere in version 2.

Yeah I checked the stat is definitely per hand but wouldnt that make my std dev/100 790bb instead of 79bb? This is a little bit confusing..

deviation per hand is not linear with deviation per x hands. Imagine for a moment deviation per 1mm hands using multiplication - 7,900,000bb - and how that wouldn't be accurate.

How do I switch it to per 100 then or is it possible at all?
I wonder if kelly criterion calculations work with this stat if I use winrate bb/ hand instead..

By the way I just found out by calculating that std dev 7.9 per hand is the same as 79 per 100 hands. Thats interesting.

this is why poker is mostly luck in the short term and mostly skill in the long term. WR keeps climbing in a linear fashion while SD fades away like the square root function.
