HM2 - Developing a working knowledge

Hey guys,
I have had HM2 for a while now, and have used it to simply track my progress on the cool graph function. I am yet to actually use the detailed software to improve my game, track my progress and analyse my players. Now is the time, I've held off for too long. I ask for your help 2+2 community!
Of course this thread isn't where I want all of the information, but I would love for people to guide me in the right direction, gives me the tools to study and learn this myself.
Things I want to learn:
1. HUD stats and use of the HUD itself:
I know the very basics, I have created a neat HUD display with help from Blackrains79. Also, I kinda know each of them and what it is telling me. Yet when it is on my screen whilst I'm playing, I have no idea how to use it effectively, without this ability, it is no more than an annoyance getting in my way.
2. Session reviews:
This is one area I do not know where to start, I don't know what it is that I'm looking for, how to look for it, and then what to do to plug the leaks I find. I'm quite lost here.
3. Opponent analysis:
I have been looking at a number of opponents in order to 'mark' their player type and I find this difficult, they all seem to have what I would consider 'normal' stats, with few glaring areas where they for example play too many hands. I need a more acute knowledge of what stats suggest weakness and how to adapt as a result.
Any help, sources or direction you guys can provide me in getting over this hurdle would be greatly appreciated.
Gl on the tables guys!

Hi fellow HM2 user.
for your stats, start with the basic VPIP / PFR / 3-bet/C-bet / fold to C-bet then add more when you get used to this stats.
for analysis, i use leak buster. i just start using it, havent reach 50k hands yet since i started playing again but it does help.

1. Used Blackrains hud also for a while, but as you had no idea what all of those number meant/how to use them, but it's because I didn't have a good sample of villains. It's a different thing having a 3k sample vs a 100 hands sample.
Think I started with only VPIP/PFR/agression%. Then I added like TOT3bet and Fvs3bet, but I added them after I worked a little bit with ranges. What does a 2% 3bet look like compared to a 8% range etc. If I don't know what it looks like I have no use for it.
Basically start from the ground and as your sample gets larger, you can add more.
2. Start with looking at your preflop game.
Which hands that you raise do you play good/bad from which positions? You can for example filter all hands from UTG and then you have a little 'hand chart' that you can click on. That shows you if you're + when raising for example 22-55 or if you're -...
Which hands are you cold calling good/bad? same as above. Use filter and look at positions etc.
3. Barely never use it since the player pool I'm playing in is big. Use it to get the average for the player pool and see if there is some general tendencies. For instance in my pool the:
VPIP: 20%
PFR: 15%
3bet: 5%
Cbet: 50%
FvsCbet: 50%
etc etc.
This changes of course if I change the amount of hands of villains. The numbers above is of villains that I have more than 500 hands on. So the typical reg in my pool is kinda nittish and value heavy. I use these number to change like the color schemes in my stats, so if something is high/low on one stat for example compared to the average: I have the color green usually. Then I can adjust based on that.
Basically start with your and villain preflop game and then add postflop tendencies.
