Heads Up NLHU Cash Game Range Charts Question About Colors Heads Up NLHU Cash Game Range Charts Question About Colors

Hi there,

I recently bought four Heads Up NLHU cash game range charts from a poker training site. They are:

Small blind opening range

Big blind defending range

SB vs 3bet range

BB vs 4bet range

I believe the software used to make the ranges is Pio.

The range charts feature different colors designating hands to raise, fold, etc: red, green, blue, and gray. *Incredibly,* the website that made and sold me the ranges does not include an explanation of the colors. I wrote them asking, to no avail.

Can anyone explain what they mean? It's easy to intuit that red means raise and green probably means call--but gray and blue are less clear.

Thanks.

Ask for your money back if they don't explain the product you've bought off of them, that should give you the answer you are looking for. In the interim, I'm not sure how you expect us to answer your question given what you're describing could easily be used to describe a TV testcard

Yeah, that was my next move.

Ha--very much so. Couldn't figure out how to post the ranges here five minutes ago; now seem to be able to. Posting them now.

red = raise
blue = fold
green = call

also the ranges don't look quite right. Did it include the sizings and rake structure?

Thank you.

What do hands partially filled with gray and blue mean?

They did not. They simply said ranges for cash games.

Would you be able to connect with me correct, heads up NLHE cash game ranges?

Thanks again.

just the 4b sizing must be large for these sims since it has the guy 5b jamming everything

These ranges look relatively reasonable to me, though not sure I've correctly identified what every chart is. But they look reasonably in line to me, not terrible by any stretch. Brokenstars may be right about the 5bj range.

When a node is part grey that means you don't have those combos anymore (because they are folded previously or in other lines). For example, you 3b 95s sometimes and call sometimes, so when opponent 4bets, you don't have 95s all the time because some of your 95s calls vs the open instead of 3betting. The grid being partly grey indicates this.

2.5 -> 10.5 -> 25 -> 100

Solved with HRC

5% rake 0.5bb rake cap

If you go with a smaller 4b sizing you don't have as many 5b jams, or if rake is lower. It doesn't look terrible I suppose. I don't really play HU, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

RFI

vs. RFI (3b and call), red is 3b, green call, white fold

vs. 3b (4b and call), red is 4b, green is call, white fold

vs. 4b (5b and call), purple is 5b jam, green is call, white fold

Brokenstars, thank you SO much.

Duncelanas, I really appreciate the insights.

I'm posting the original charts again, with descriptors (I don't know why I didn't originally post descriptors, and apologize for this).

Duncelanas, can you tell me how these descriptors inform your thinking? Brokenstars, do these descriptors in any way impact your analysis?

SB open:

BB defend:

SB vs 3bet:

Bb vs 4bet:

Thanks again. Your help is enormously appreciated.

Yeah brokenstars is right that your ranges have much more 5b jamming, so maybe the 4b size is large. But it's the same combos pretty much and the rest of the nodes look alright. It's relatively common for different solved ranges to have minor deviations.
