To me it looks like your playing against a muppet and getting unlucky.

That said, his play wasnt all that unreasonable. He tried to steal pre flop with a medium hand, but should have given up after your second reraise. All his plays after the flop were OK. Value bets the flop with top pair, minor mistake calling at the turn but with plenty of outs, and winning with a lock hand at the river.

You did nothing wrong here man, but I might have reraised higher preflop, perhaps even put him all in rather than call his last reraise.

Then again, Im a real newbie, so wait till a few sharks come along to help you out

To elaborate, do not just complete the SB, make a standard raise.

Having misclicked and only completed, when he raises, NOW you make a real raise. Not a min-raise.

Everyone will say it, but raise PF.
I know that it is hard because you don't want to waste a good PF hand when everyone else has folded, but would you rather be up 2c or down $2.00. You are also out of position, to get any reads on him.

Then, after he raised, raise more straight up, not just min.

After that, he had top pair, then had 2nd nuts flush draw as well as gut shot straight draw.

Should I have raised initially? or do you mean just re-raise much higher?

how much would you have raised?

Play pre-flop more aggressively. Raise to start, then re-raise bigger than you did. Get it all in pre-flop if you can. You played it fine the rest of the way. If villain raised flop/turn (assuming you didn't hit K) i'd hope you wouldn't insta-shove.

A good rule of thumb is to raise the pot. This means that your original raise should have been to 7c (3.5 big blinds). Since you limped and got raised, you should have re-raised to 12c (also a pot size raise). If you think the villain will call more, put in even a bigger raise. With KK you should get as much money in the middle as possible pre-flop.

Post-flop is standard, you just got unlucky. But pre-flop is really horrible!!!

PS Do not post the results

yeah i agree with the above u did get a lil unlucky that the guys hand kept improving on every street but yeah
1. raise pre flop u r looking to try and get all in pre flop if possible
2. after he raised he gave you a second chance to play the hand correctly , make it a good solid raise.( i would nt mind seeing a big over bet here , take the pot now or get him playing for his stack with a worse hand )
if you had of done these things u could of got all in pre flop or on the flop .
yes if he called you would ve of still lost but the important difference is you would of got yr money in with the best hand at that point , in poker thats all you can do.

Defo wouldnt of got it all in pre, but make standard 4BB raise. Standard on flop, then shove on turn.
