Villain was 11/6 over 50 hands so I assumed he was relatively tight and was playing fairly standard from the blinds.

I'm not sure if it was good on my part to call this turn.
My assumption was that he probably would have bet this turn most of the time.
If he bet the river I was folding.

Why do you think villain will donk turn a significant amount of time?

I think your bet sizing on the flop is too small, other than that looks fine as played.

Can you answer this question yourself? I'm interested. A villan calls your flop bet, then donks turn. Why?

EDIT: Most villans who complete their flush draws would rather continue playing the calling station. Donking it seems like an abnormal behaviour.

no, I can't.

I agree that donking is hardly a standard line so I was wondering why OP thought villain would be inclined to donk turn here most of the time.

Would anyone value bet the river instead of check behind?

In my experience at these stakes a donk usually means a weaker possibly made hand. Given the villains stats i would say... mayb the Ac or an over pair to the board. On the other hand he could have been betting to find out where he was at.

What could the villain possibly call with that we have beat?

If we make a bet of 1-1.25 maybe any pair from 8's to Q's. Very villian dependent, but it doesn't make sense to me that he donks the turn then checks the river. To me it seems the Ace is a scare card to him, but if we make the bet small enough maybe he would make a hero call with PP from 8's to Q's.

But I'm a noob, just wanted to know what other people thought

But that wasn't the question. We weren't asking what you thought he was donking but why you thought he would donk "most of the time". Did you think, after the flop call, that villains range was mostly overpairs and AsX with a backdoor FD? Seems like an odd range to have him on.

Over pairs are almost certainly in his range of course, but if he floats with backdoor FDs he surely also floats with the club back door FD? And what about just two overs no FD?

And what about flushdraws and straight draws? Or are you confident he raises those?

And just because some villains might donk those hands on the turn, what made you think this particular villain would? Or do you think donking here is the "standard" line?

Well, considering the range you just gave him on turn, how about 88-QQ?

bet/folding something like 1-1.20 certainly has merits given the line taken by villain. We would need a bit more info than given to say for sure but I think I would lean towards betting river because villains hand looks a lot like 88-QQ here.

I'm pretty sure he would have c/r with a fd. A donk here just didn't make sense to me. But I bet 1/2 pot making it like like a cbet with air.

I'd seriously consider folding the turn, because the donk bet looks a lot like the mass-tabling nit just realised he'd made a flush or a boat and wants to build a big pot. It's a really weird line that he took, but one that usually means the player is a level 1 thinker that thinks he has the nuts.

This is contradicting what you first said about his turn bet. Villain can't both be making a nonsensical donk bet and be betting most of his hands.

Anyway, you also need to bet bigger on the flop to get more value.

I meant c/r with a made flush.
But just got to thinking about going for a little value on the river. Do you guys think this type of player at this level is capable of calling with a worse hand here?
