I'm confused, why would NLHE as a whole ever dry up or be replaced? I mean surely any competitive game evolves over time and players who stick with it evolve and improve alongside it, but the rules of the game never change and there is an endless supply of new blood...especially with the huge influx of interest in the game and even more so if some legislation got passed in the USA.

It wouldn't, which makes thread moot since it could have been answered with a simple "none"...except maybe 2-7 Triple Draw.

Cash games will never dry up.
Poker will never dry up.
You just wont see any more of these overnight success stories with 18y.o winning WSOPE because the game has become significantly more difficult regardless of whether poker players want to accept that or not

I'd say an 18 yr old winning the WSOPE isn't that far out there. The standard of poker is getting higher and the average age is falling dramatically from years past. Internet poker has changed a lot. It's possible.

^^ the younger guys are the ones who are going to be winning the most money as the game grows, it is a strategy game at the end of the day and young people have the most time on their hands to practice and get good at it

the fact cash games are getting harder everyday would suggest its drying up to me, compare cash to mtt, mtt is soft even at the highest buy ins filled with nothing but losing players and like 10 pros who dominate half the time.. then cash is filled with people who know the game sure some are much better than others but the donk festival isnt as present anymore

The $10 turbo DON's are so reg infested it's ridiculous - it's like why are all these poker geniuses playing at such low stakes against each other? ... as I sat at a table facing 7 Ace rated players, and my being a lowly King!

Please Pokerstars: stop spending your money on getting the big names - but on getting the small fish for us!

We shouldn't have to play the $2 tables just to escape the onslaught of sharks! It' so depressing to see that almost everyone in 2010 at the $10 stage onwards is a NLHE expert. Fresh meat is desperately needed to keep poker growing.

I think theya re like that because they're such a formulaic game that encouarges disiplince and patience, something that fish don't typically have

I've had a similar experience with the STT. The quality of play at even the low stakes is a lot better than I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying they're sharks or something, I just thought that at $6 games they would be very weak. Hell they are at the 18/45/90 $6 games, very, hence the thread

Does anyone have some experience with the 45 SnG on stars at the?

Fair enough but on the other hand, my best other claims that it's because of the failing economy that so many have been inspired (& finally succeeded) towards becoming poker playing experts, sitting at home doing something they love and making money off idiots to boot - only problem is now, in NLHE DON sitngoes, unlike in real life, the supply of idiots is rapidly depleting. It's almost as if in 2010 it's become so unfashionable to be an idiot at an online poker table!

Even at King rating, I am now thinking of ditching the $10 DON's because the number of Aces playing at the same tables is simply astounding, which does not make for a +ev experience.

I've been told by a professional that the Dons are NOT dead, but they're on the process of being so. He said about 3-4 months ago that they will probably will die out in a year so but in the mean time they are very beatable. He is a professional with a ton of experience though

They're good bubble experience for satellites.

What do you mean by they're an Ace and you're a King?

That's a good possibility with the failing economy

Ooops, my bad, I assumed that everyone would know that I was referring to the rating system used by p'p'labs (I personally find their ratings to be more indicative of online player ability, at less/zero cost, than sharkscope's. YMMV)

PLO is still severely misplayed. Its true you dont get as many donkeys stacking off with their OE on a flush board but there are so many players that still dont know how to play PLO.
My only concern is once we get to 2/4 3/6 there are mainly cap and shallow games and all regular players seem to be 2p2'ers
