Yesterday, an unknown in UTG raised, I 3bet from button with KK, and he shoved. I called, he had AQo. No, you should never fold KK, unless you are certain he has AA.

Depends on the board texture, but shove with KK pre, regardless of villain.

Not for 100bb.

Thanks guys, That's what I usually do unless I have a read on a villain... It's just lately I've not seen anything less then KK from UTG villains who 4bet shove pre, but I guess it's just variance..obviously there's a difference what position I'm 3betting from, villain will assign a tighter range if I'm 3betting from blisnds rather then from CO or BTN. I will never fold to a 4bet from UTG if I'm 3betting from position, but should I consider folding if I'm 3betting from the blinds ? Kind of nitty... Guess not folding Is the best option unless we have a read that villain is never 4betting without AA

I was playing last night and two guys got it all in - guy 1. had KK guy 2. had AA (aa held up).

About 5 mins later (not joking) guy 1. raises, guy 2. three bets, guy 1 writes in the text box 'aces agian?' guy 2 says 'yes' guy 1. writes 'FFS' and shoves and gets called by guy 2 who had aces which held up.

and they all lived happily ever after.

Cool story bro

Sometimes there is a reason to fold KK, and you people should be ashamed for saying you should never do it to an unknown. You haven't even bothered to ask if OP is allergic to money

Why? I'm good with never against an unknown.

The only time I have ever agreed that folding KK PR is reasonable is when you are on or about the bubble in a tourny, where the last place cash is massive compared to the BI (especially if you sat'd in).

In a cash game, it's a call/shove every time. There are 12 possible hands out of 2651 (you know you have KK) and 1 that is drawing with you PR. If it's aces, cry, blame the poker gods, and deal the next hand.

Folded KK once against a guy with a pre flop raise of 2% who limp reraised from UTG.

not SH, FR at 25nl and lower probs, since everyone is nut peddling.

cant fold kk to a unknown, if your playing a reg however & only 100bb deep with no set mining odds and villain basically 4bets big and pot commits himself ide fold kk and i have been doing so recently, it also depends on position because if lets say im mp and i 3bet a utg+1 tag/reg and he 4bet me 4x my 3bet raise im probably mucking it but if its a situation where im in the blinds and hes on the btn or cutoff im shoving.. but vs unknown its a ship 100%

edit: all what i said was for full ring, for 6max you cant fold kk ever

That's actually one circumstance in which I would consider folding KK to an unknown. Limp-reraise from UTG is almost always AA.

So yeah, I would consider folding, but would not fold anyway

So you would be MORE willing to lay down KK to an aggro reg? Am I reading this correctly??
