Focus mode ON? Focus mode ON?

Hi!

I don't know if this topic goes here but anyway

A lot of times when I feel like playing but can't really focus on the game in the late night hours. That's when there is most players online and also tourneys (like Sunday night). I also have the same problem with studying. If I can get myself to study around 11am - 3pm I'm really concentrated (but sunny days usually distrub this :P).

I'm not sleepy or anything and can't even fall asleep, but have a hard time focusing as well (energy drinks only make me less tired, nothing else), so I would like to know if you guys use any techniques or whatever like during your grinding breaks or anything like that?

I've seen some "close your eyes and focus and sth" but that doesn't really work.

Thanks for reading

I think this is very common problem nowadays and more people have it everyday as we live in the age of distraction. There are so many things around us everyday to steal out attention it is crazy.

There are many things you can do to improve your concentration. Off the top of my head these are some things I follow and have worked for me:
-Have your house clean an tidy and it will be easier to focus only on what you are doing at the moment. Tidy house = Tidy mind.
-Have a time and place for your important activities. Choose a place in the house to study, and use it exclusively for that purpose. That way the table you're sitting in will not remind you of what you were doing last time you were there.
-Exercise. I cannot stress how important this is for everyone, no matter what they do. Exercise cleans your mind, boosts your self-esteem, and helps you to focus on the present (ie improve your concentration).
- Do not sit to spend X time doing something but to achieve X. Don't just go "I'll study for 3 hours straight". Say something along the lines of "I'm going to review lessons X and Y, then I will take a small break to eat a sandwich, iron out the complicated concepts with exercises and then I'll go out for a walk". You will end up doing more in less time.

You can think of the brain as a muscle. At first it will be harder to focus but as you exercise it will become easier. Checking your phone, TV, Facebook and games in the wrong moment are the fast food of the mind.

Great points. Will definetely start with that, especially the exercise part, since I know that when I was going to the gym I had more energy and felt more relaxed.

The last point also seems interesting. Never thought of setting my goals like that.

I was also thinking about some focusing exercises or so. I wonder if anything like that would help. Like a quick 5 minute mediatation or something like that. I hope this doesnt sound too weird

Thanks for the tips
